Our normal warranty
Your bow has a 1 year warranty against failure in normal use. If it breaks or otherwise becomes unusable* within that time, you will be compensated in proportion to the fraction of the year still remaining. (So if it breaks after 9 months, you will be reimbursed one quarter of its price.) Normal use includes the following, which are also good tips for keeping your bow fit and healthy for years:
Protect your bow from mechanical damage – even small dents and scratches can seriously weaken it.
Protect your bow from water as much as possible. It's OK to shoot in the rain, but dry it off afterwards. Keep it polished or oiled.
On the other hand, don't let your bow dry out. Don't store it close to a source of heat.
Protect your bow from excessive heat. This mostly means don't leave it in your car on a sunny day – it could be dead when you get back.
Use the Dacron string supplied.
Don't draw your bow beyond its tillering length, as shown in its data sheet. The draw length is measured according to the A.M.O. standard, which is from string to the grip plus 1¾". It may be able to take more, but at your own risk!
Never dry-fire your bow (that is, shoot it without an arrow).
Compare our warranty with that of other bowyers!
*For example, by developing a weak region that bends a lot more than the rest of the bow, significantly reducing its weight. It does not cover the development of compression failures (crizzles) unless they have an appreciable effect on the mechanics of the bow.
Extended warranty
Some bows pick up faults during manufacture which are barely visible and which don't affect the working of the bow, but which are likely to cause concern to the new owner. Any faults like this are listed in the data sheet on the bow and, where stated, the warranty period for failure due to the listed fault is extended to five years.
